For this project, we had to firstly: research about robots and write a simple investigation just so we can know a bit about robots, and have a better idea of them. After that we had to create designs of three robots, pick one and then make it. At this stage we are done making our three robots and picking them and now we have started investigating the parts of the Lego that we are supposed to use to make our robot. We found out what all the parts are and we also plugged the Lego tower to the laptop to programed the RCX
This picture is of the RCX. We plugged it in to the laptop with the Lego tower so that we could program it.











This is a picture of a light sensor. A light sensor senses if there is anyone or any items in front of it so then it stops. There is also another type of sensor which is the touch sensor. What the touch sensor does is when it bumps into any thing it stops too.















There are also some pages of the book with the steps that we had on how to build the robot.

On 4/3/2010, we finished building our basic robot successfully and we also added a touch sensor. After that, we plugged in the Lego tower the the RCX into the laptop and we tried to program it again. We were successful and unsuccessful, we were successful because we were able to connect it to the laptop and we were also unsuccessful because we didn't program it properly (the way it was supposed to be programed)
My goals for next week are to program my robot the way we want it to successful (to finish the challenge given to us by our teacher)

Today we made 3 new programs. For the next lesson, we will try to program the RCX so that it can move the way we want it to.

We found a few mistakes in our program and the steps we are doing. We figured out how to program it correctly. We took a few screen shots of what we were doing. We also made a few more complicated programs rather than simple ones.

Robots Will Be Our New Best Friends

What is a friend?
A friend is a person who you can trust, depend on. A person who is there for you and supports you

Why might we consider robots as friends?
We might consider robots as friends because maybe soon all the people will start hating each other so everyone would have their own personal robot as their own friend

Where do we encounter robots?
We might encounter robots in the future

Where will we encounter robots in the future?
When robots can actually become friends and think for them self's because robots now are machines that human beings control

Why do we have robots?
We have robots to help us and do things humans cannot do

I am against this statement because I feel that robots cannot be a humans best friend. This is because they do not have emotions and cannot think for themselves because human build them and program them to do something specific

Evaluation

For my E-Portfolio I would like to improve by putting some more pictures on some of my pages like my Science page and my P.S.E page. I would also have liked to have some music on 'My Music' page, but I was too busy with my other pages that I didn't get the time to do it! I would also have liked to have more vokis and animoto videos. The last thing I would have liked to included was my art project I created but I never found the picture I took of it! =]

My Digital Portfolio Design

For my digital portfolio I want to have a separate page for 'My Music' instead of having it when you open the page because it might be a distraction for them. I would also like to have about 2 or 3 pictures on each page to help you understand it a bit more and to make it look more attractive. I want my digital portfolio to have some videos to give you and example or show it or even have a powerpoint. I want my portfolio to be really organized and easy to navigate. I want mine to be really colorful and attractive! I also want it to be really different from everyone else's digital portfolio and I want everybody who looks at it to be amazed!Here are some of the pages I would like to include:-

Vincents Portfolio
Vincents portfolio has a lot of pages and he has all of his subjects and some of his interests. I liked the idea of the my music page because its better than music coming out when you open the page. I also liked that he had all his subjects organized and it was really clear for you to see everything. I did not like the long stories and essays on some of the pages because they are TOO long for somebody to read all of them!!!

This portfolio I do not like because it has TOO much blue and it does not look interesting at ALL. I only liked that is when you want to click on one of the pages the writing becomes bigger and it becomes black not blue. I think that they should change this portfolio because it is all the same.

The first thing that really wasn't a good idea was having loud music when you open this website because I was sitting in the class and all of a sudden the music came and I closed it immediatly. I really liked it because it looked really unique. It was hard because it took me a long time to find where the pages were!!!
